LIB DEM PROMISE TO THE PEOPLE OF HACKNEY
2009-01-15 23:21:25 Lib Dem Leader, Nick Clegg, has made a New Year promise to the people of Hackney:
“At a time of economic crisis,” he says, “what people need is help - and particularly in Hackney which is recognised as one of the most deprived boroughs in Britain. But all the government is o ffering you is more tired ideas.
“Over the next parliament, I’ll be working hard with all our MPs to make the changes that matter to people.
"We will be defending our precious freedoms which this Government - including Home O ffice Minister Meg Hillier - seems determined to get rid of one by one.
“Most of all, we’ll be fighting for a fairer, greener Britain .”
Stoke Newington Central candidate, Karelia Scott, commented “Only the Liberal Democrats have real answers to the problems we, as a country, are facing."
