The Fight To Save Our Street Wardens Continues...
2006-02-11 20:20:13 Blair’s Mayor is still refusing to back continued funding for our much needed Street Wardens. We’d like to thank all of you who sent back the petition or signed online at www.hackneylibdems.org.uk for your tremendous support.
A new hopeLocal people from the all our local estates have felt the positive effect the street wardens have brought. It’s a shame to lose them.
It now looks as if Pipe and his Blairite council chums may be going to back down. If this is to happen, we need to keep up the pressure — every letter, email and telephone call the mayor gets will give more weight to our campaign.
Make your voice heard!Throughout Hoxton and Shoreditch residents’ lives are still being made a misery by thuggish anti-social behaviour. Many people are scared even to open their front doors after dark. Others are threatened with abuse and assault. This isn’t right. Liberal Democrats are determined to fight for everyone’s right to to live a decent life in safety and dignity. The wardens play an essential part. Please continue to support our campaign.
