How Long Before One of Our Children Dies

Bullet Point 2006-03-12 21:34:50

Local residents have recently alerted me to the plight of the children of Jubilee Primary School, Filey Avenue. Building materials have been dumped outside the school on Kyverdale Road, where kids on their way home have to cross, for nearly six months.

A Short Cut?
We all know that drivers taking a short cut between Upper Clapton Road and Stamford Hill like to cut through Filey Avenue. Some of them don’t take as much care as we’d all like. When our children cannot see to cross the road safely, there is a real risk that one of them will be knocked down and hurt or killed.

Concern for our kids
A concerned local resident whose children attend the Jewish school opposite told me “It’s bad enough on this side of the road. How anyone can see to cross I don’t know. It’s time the council did something about this.”

Action!
As a parent myself, I am very concerned that despite my letters to officers nothing has still been done about this by the Labour council. Will it take the death of one of our children before this hazard is removed?
