How can the Labour council make people live like this?

Bullet Point 2007-12-05 19:36:21

Residents in Tower Court have been left by the Labour Council in dangerous, damp, fire damaged accommodation with no idea of when their ordeal will end.

Local campaigner Brian Stone is working with residents to try to secure a definite date when they can move out.

Brian said “Tower Court is a disgrace. I don’t know how the Labour Party can sleep at night when they’re leaving children and young families to live
in a block that’s been gutted by fire, squatted by drug users and was due to be torn down years ago.

“I’ve written to the mayor demanding immediate action and asking him to visit the estate to see for himself how bad things are.”

When asked how many of their Tory councillors residents in Tower Court had ever seen on the estate, one resident told us "None - we haven't seen them in years. They must walk past the building almost daily when in the area and they have never even bothered to come in, despite the fact it is obvious from the outside that the place is in dire need of demolition"
